The Positive Parenting Program is a preventive, early-intervention program that helps parents find positive solutions to common childhood behavior issues using strategies proven to help improve children’s behaviors and reduce caregivers stress and anxiety. We are funded by San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency and our classes are FREE.

“Love & Logic”: A six-week parenting series providing simple, practical and proven tools for raising respectful, responsible, and happy kids!
Parents will learn about:

Avoid power struggles
Guide kids to own and solve their problems
Set kids up for success via “small mistakes” method
Session 1 - Most people don’t need to be told that getting into arguments with their kids is a bad thing. This session will teach parents how to apply the Love and Logic approach to neutralize arguing.
Drug Prevention Parent Follow Up Panel Discussion
“Drug Prevention”: An interactive half-day event for 6th Grade students with activities that teach youth to make healthy choices and understand the impact of Alcohol, Tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD).
Parents will learn about:
The annual Drug Prevention Event for 6th graders
Strategies without breaking or losing trust
Warning signs of drug misuse
Resources for prevention and intervention

Safe Harbor produces an experiential half-day event with interactive activities for all 6th graders to learn about drug awareness and prevention.

Digital Life Lessons
Safe Harbor is developing programming around digital and cyber safety for students, parents, and community members. In response to our 2023 community assessment and due to obvious technology and social media influences on our youth, Safe Harbor plans to raise and allocate funds for new digital safety workshops, speakers, and events.
Game Club @Coronado High School
Game Club is an evidence-based, cognitive behavior intervention for 9th through 12th graders at Coronado High School. During the 40 minute weekly interactive sessions at Coronado High School.
Love & Logic
Love & Logic: Effective Parenting Solutions. We had an incredible response to this offering and we have reached capacity for this first seminar at Silver Strand. However, Safe Harbor will be offering a second session of this workshop in 2024! More information will be shared at a later date.
